- 亞倫・強森 (Allan G. Johnson, 1946–2017)，1972 年獲密西根大學社會學博士；身兼社會學家、教育家、作家、講者與組織顧問，主要關注特權、壓迫與社會不平等
- 他是白人、中產階級、異性戀男性，在 1960 年代受到女性主義啟蒙，並反省自己享有的性別、階級與族群特權；另著有在台灣社會學界暢銷多年的《見樹又見林》
- 本書英文原名 The Gender Knot: Unraveling Our Patriarchal Legacy，1997 年初版，2005 年修訂版，2014 年推出第三版；書評普遍給予好評，稱它填補了一個空缺
- 中文版書名《性別打結：拆除父權違建》，成令方、王秀雲、游美惠、邱大昕、吳嘉苓合譯，群學出版；是台灣多所性別研究所的教科書
