¿Quién es el autor?
- 湯瑪斯・哈代 (Thomas Hardy, 1840–1928)，英國小說家與詩人，出身多塞特郡的石匠家庭，年輕時學建築，作品大多以他虛構的英格蘭西南部「威塞克斯」為背景
- 本書 1891 年先在報紙《圖畫》上連載，因內容大膽而被大幅刪改，同年出版完整的單行本；副標題是「一個純潔的女人，忠實的描繪」
- 出版時評價兩極，作家史蒂文生反應激烈，亨利・詹姆斯甚至稱它「卑劣」；今天則被公認為十九世紀最重要的英國小說之一。哈代在《無名的裘德》也引發爭議後，從此不再寫小說，專心寫詩
- 1891 年出版，依本站分類屬於 1950 年以前的經典小說；中文版書名多為《黛絲姑娘》或《德伯家的苔絲》
