    • 馬庫斯是人類學家,曾任教於萊斯大學與加州大學爾灣分校;同年也與費雪合著《文化批判人類學》
    • 本書源自 1984 年在美國新墨西哥州聖塔菲舉行的「美國研究學院」高級研討會,1986 年由加州大學出版社出版;2010 年推出二十五週年版,由金・佛頓撰寫新序
    • 作者群包括瑪麗・路易絲・普拉特、文森・克拉潘札諾、雷納托・羅薩多、史蒂芬・泰勒、塔拉勒・阿薩德、麥可・費雪、保羅・拉比諾等人;中文有簡體版《寫文化:民族志的詩學與政治學》
