Who is the author?
- 喬斯坦・賈德 (Jostein Gaarder)，1952 年生於挪威奧斯陸，大學主修斯堪地那維亞語文與神學，曾在高中教授哲學多年
- 本書挪威文原名 Sofies verden，1991 年出版，原本是寫給青少年的哲學入門小說，卻成為全球現象級暢銷書，被譯成六十多種語言，銷量數千萬冊
- 1999 年改編成電影；書的副標題是「一部關於哲學史的小說」
- 中文版書名《蘇菲的世界》，在台灣長年暢銷，是許多人的哲學啟蒙書
