Who is the author?
- 作者署名「波林・黑阿吉」(Pauline Réage)，這是一個筆名；真實作者是法國作家、編輯安妮・德克洛 (Anne Desclos, 1907–1998)，她也以多米尼克・歐利 (Dominique Aury) 的名字從事翻譯與評論
- 據她晚年的說法，這本書最初是寫給情人、作家兼出版人尚・波朗 (Jean Paulhan) 的一系列信件，用來證明女人也能寫出這樣的作品
- 本書法文原名 Histoire d'O，1954 年出版，隔年獲得法國「雙叟文學獎」，也因內容大膽而遭到法國當局以違反善良風俗調查
- 直到 1994 年，作者才在《紐約客》的訪談中公開承認自己的身分；中文版書名《O孃的故事》
