Who is the author?
- D.H. 勞倫斯 (D. H. Lawrence, 1885–1930)，英國小說家、詩人，出生於英格蘭中部諾丁漢郡的礦工家庭
- 他的作品常探討工業文明對人的壓抑、兩性關係與身體的覺醒，代表作包括《兒子與情人》《虹》《戀愛中的女人》
- 本書英文原名 Lady Chatterley's Lover，1928 年在義大利私人印行，因為大膽的性描寫，在英國與美國被禁了三十多年
- 1960 年，企鵝出版社在英國出版完整版，引發著名的「查泰萊審判」，最後被判無罪，成為英國出版自由的重要里程碑；中文版書名《查泰萊夫人的情人》
