Who is the author?
- 張愛玲 (1920–1995)，生於上海，中國現代文學最重要的小說家之一，曾就讀香港大學，因太平洋戰爭爆發而中斷學業
- 〈沉香屑・第一爐香〉1943 年發表於上海的《紫羅蘭》雜誌，是她的成名作之一，故事背景正是她在香港求學時期觀察到的殖民地社會
- 這篇小說後來收錄於短篇小說集《傳奇》；2020 年由許鞍華執導改編成電影《第一爐香》
- 她晚年定居美國洛杉磯，1995 年辭世
