Who is the author?
- 雷馬克 (Erich Maria Remarque, 1898–1970)，德國小說家，十八歲被徵召入伍，在西線作戰時被砲彈碎片炸傷，戰後當過教師、記者等工作
- 本書 1928 年 11 月到 12 月在德國《福斯日報》連載，1929 年 1 月出版單行本，第一年就賣出一百五十萬冊，十八個月內被譯成二十二種語言，銷售兩百五十萬冊
- 1933 年納粹上台後，本書成為最早被公開焚燒的「頹廢書籍」之一；雷馬克流亡瑞士與美國，後來被剝奪德國國籍
- 1929 年出版，依本站分類屬於 1950 年以前的經典小說；中文版書名多為《西線無戰事》
