Who is the author?
- 尚-多明尼克・鮑比 (Jean-Dominique Bauby, 1952–1997)，生於法國，在巴黎求學，從事新聞工作；1991 年起擔任法國版《ELLE》雜誌總編輯
- 1995 年 12 月 8 日，四十多歲的他突發腦幹中風，陷入「閉鎖症候群」：意識清醒，全身卻只剩下左眼可以眨動
- 他靠著眨左眼，一個字母一個字母地「說」出這本書。法文原名 Le Scaphandre et le Papillon，1997 年 3 月出版；出版後兩天，他因肺炎過世
- 中文版書名《潛水鐘與蝴蝶》，邱瑞鑾譯，大塊文化出版，暢銷 45 萬冊；2007 年改編成同名電影，導演朱利安・許納貝獲坎城影展最佳導演
