    Sail to Lofoten
A Hybrid of Fiction and Popular Science

This book was co-written by AI expert Kai-Fu Lee and science fiction writer Chen Qiufan, in a distinctive form: each of its ten chapters has a short story by Chen Qiufan, set in places around the world; after each story, Lee explains the AI technologies used in the story and the social impact they may bring.

The two authors deliberately avoid writing about distant superintelligence, choosing instead technologies they believe have better than an eighty percent chance of being realized within twenty years, so that the stories rest on feasible science. Chen Qiufan says that if we want to create a future we want to live in, we must first learn to imagine it.
